Comic Strip Workshop

If you like to draw and come up with stories, than check out this online comic strip workshop!

Learn step by step how to create your own comic strip! You’ll learn the basics of what a comic strip is, techniques on how to draw characters and how to tell a dramatic story.

You’ll be learning from local artist, Gen. She has been involved in the art world from the time she was a kid, has taught as a part of the Arts Reach program, and her favourite way to express herself is through her drawings. All you need for this is some paper, a pen, and your imagination!

This program is delivered online and designed so you can learn at your own pace through pre-recorded videos.

$30, call today to register 250-388-5251!

KATS (Kids at Tennis)

The Society for Kids at Tennis (KATS, www.kidsattennis.ca) provides free tennis lessons and equipment to families experiencing financial barriers (application required). Using the “progressive tennis” approach recommended by Tennis Canada, the KATS program uses smaller racquets, smaller courts, lower nets and low compression balls. This approach helps kids to develop confidence in their ability to hit the ball, learn quickly, and most of all, have fun playing the sport!  Kids will be introduced to the fundamental skills which form the foundation for future development. Please contact your local community centre for application information and forms.  Programs do not run on stat holidays.
